• A Borgia, who was guilty of a libertine lifestyle, and numerous other crimes, including adultery, incest, simony, theft, bribery, and murder (especially murder by arsenic poisoning). He and other family members were also patrons of the arts who contributed to the development of Renaissance art. A great patron of the arts but a despicable human being, the Borgia family stands out in history as being infamously steeped in sin and immorality. After his death his unattended corpse swelled until it could barely fit in a coffin an ugly end to bad Pope.
