Great Apache War Chief and Medicine Man, feared by the white invaders as a demon without mercy, Many myths of invulnerability surround his legend and his bravery in battle made him the most feared warrior against his enemies.
His ability to avoid capture for so long assured his place in history as the most famous and feared Apache of all. His surrender in 1877 ended the bloody conflict between Native Americans and whites but not the battle.
